The days are getting longer, the primroses are blooming, and Poetry on Loan is looking forward to an amazing spring.
We'll have a fantastic musical show, Paradise rocks!, at Rugby Library in March, and Poets, prattlers and pandemonialists in City Central Library Hanley (Stoke-on-Trent) in May. Also in May, Henry Normal will be appearing at THe Hive, in Worcester, and we'll be greeting summer with Sir Andrew Motion in Ludlow.
All this is as well as our much-loved postcard poets, and an assortment of workshops.
We'll be meeting next week, and on the agenda is planning for our recommended poetry books list, whcih should appear in your library around National Poetry Day.
Meanwhile, I'm trying to decide what books to take with me for a short holiday. I have novels, but I always take at least one book of poems with me - but the trouble is, which one? Last time it was Billy Collins, which was perfect, but now I have a difficult choice. What I need is a recommended poetry books list...
