Poetry Happening Near You

Competition time!

Poetry on Loan's competition is now open for entries

Today posters will be appearing in libraries all over the West Midlands, to advertise Poetry on Loan's first ever regional poetry comptetition. It's free to enter, so why not have a go? Poems must be no more than 20 lines long, and on the theme of Home-made, home-grown. You can find full details here.

And when you're not writing poems for the competition, why not start reading your way through our recommended book list? It's with the printers now, and should be hitting your local library soon.

And if you feel like going out - well, there's a Heritage Day at Kings Norton library, Birmingham, on 16th June, with two excellent perfromance poets - Stephen Morrison-Burke and Spoz. And on 25th June, Michael Thomas will be reading from his new book, at the Alan Garner Centre in Wolverhampton.
