Join us for an evening of poetry with award-winning poet, Imtiaz Dharker, live (virtually) in your living room

We are thrilled to welcome award-winning poet Imtiaz Dharker, for an evening of poetry, live virtually in your living room (or conservatory, kitchen, den – wherever’s most comfortable!). Imtiaz will be reading from her works, sharing her thoughts about poetry and answering your questions.

Imtiaz is a poet, artist and video filmmaker. She was awarded the Queen’s Gold Medal for Poetry in 2014. She received the Cholmondeley Award and an Honorary Doctorate from SOAS and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature. In 2020 she became the Chancellor of Newcastle University.

Her collections include Postcards From GodThe Terrorist At My TableOver the Moon and the latest, Luck is the Hook.

The evening will open with a short reading by the Warwickshire Libraries Young Poet Laureate, Ruby Murphy.

This event will be presented as a Microsoft Teams Live Event. You will be able to view our speakers on your screen and you can use the Q&A function to type your questions. Library staff hosting the event will then read these out for Imtiaz to answer.
