Poetry Happening Near You

A workshop with your Poet Laureate - Emilie Lauren Jones

Emilie will be leading a relaxed poetry writing workshop focussing on Coventry’s wonderful history. Everyone welcome, no previous writing experience necessary.

In 2021, the year Coventry became UK City of Culture, Emilie Lauren Jones became Coventry’s first Poet Laureate. Emilie has performed alongside poets such as Simon Armitage, Liz Berry, and Roy McFarlane, and her poetry has been featured on local and national radio, including BBC Radio 4, BBC 5 Live and BBC 6 Music. Emilie runs regular writing workshops for adults and young people.

Now she's running a workshop designed to appeal to everyone, with poetry based around Coventry's history. It's a free event, open to anyone, and you don't need to book - just turn up at Stoke Library, 1:30 - 2:30 pm, Monday 16th May.
